    How would you apply data science on the IoE/IoT transaction data and what would be the usefulness of this?

    Hi Chhavi,

    So there is always some kind of value in data.
    Since your questions is VERY broad, let's take a look at something specific.

    How about a smart refrigerator?
    Let's look at the door open and close data.

    What are some of the possible uses knowing when the door is opened, how long the door is opened?

    In the aggregate, the manufacture could know if they need to improve the hinges.
    A third party could calculate the power consumed by the internal light, whenever the door is open.
    You could identify use patterns, such as midnight snacks.  Display an ad?

    Investment in big data capabilities is key here. Capabilities that can both ingest and store the data, and integrate multiple data sets. In many cases, placing new capabilities in the cloud or other managed services will allow the flexible scaling of technology without impacting any existing architecture.

    What's more
    insights are only as good as the information they are sourced from, data sources need to be:
    • fresh – so providers can take immediate action;
    • clean – prevent the 'garbage-in, garbage-out' phenomenon (the processing of nonsensical data); and
    • complete – partial data leads to poor, uninformed decision making.
    While these are not direct answers to you questions, and do not go specifically into the science, I hope it can give you a bit of a framework to get started. You can read more in this article or explore some of here data and analytics articles here for some more insights.
