The EU GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) will go live in May 2018 with stringent rules around the rights of the "
data subject" (i.e. the client) with respect to "
right of access" , "
right to object" & "
right to be forgotten / right of erasure" not only from the domain of "
the controller" (i.e. the Telecom service provider in this case) but also each and every of "
the processors" associated with the controller (i.e. the outsourced IT/BPO partners, the ad agencies, etc) for processing any of the data related to the data subject.
