We are developing a multi-tenant GPON network which would allow CSPs to share our outside plant (PON) when offering services to their residential customers. We want to build an API that will allow CSPs to discover and reserve ports on a Fiber Access Terminal (FAT) which is typically located on a utility pole in the street. Once reserved, this port would later be connected to the customer's residence via a fiber drop.

We think the 639 Resource Inventory Management is the right API for this, but I am seeking confirmation from the experts here. One concern is that according to the 639 spec, a Physical Resource must have a power state. FATs are passive equipment, so it makes me wonder whether FATs are even the kinds of resources that the 639 would help to manage.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello Matt
PowerState is not a mandatory attribute for Physical Resource so you can model and create your FAT resources without that attribute.
