    Hello everyone,

We have implemented the TMF645, but now there are uncertainties about two datetime attributes. These are the ServiceAvailability and ServiceActivation datetimes.

Can anyone give me more details about the two datetimes? What is the meaning behind them?
I understand ServiceActivation as the point in time when a service might be usable for the end customer. But which point in time exactly describes the availability?

@Ludovic Robert I read you have good insights into this API. Can you explain the idea behind the two points in time?

    Kind Regards,
    Jan

The real measures depend on what the customer wants to control and has the visibility to improve the processes or specific reqs.

    • Service Availability means that the service is available for the activation for customer/users, but may require several steps to activate, e.g. once the infrastructure is available, the service changes the status to available for the specific region/technology etc. In proper systems. The service availability status could have various parameters, which will indicate the time when the status is changed, like only specific ports available, specific  technology region coverage, CPE ready, partner system ok, etc.
    • Service activation time, means the exact time (or period) when the service was activated.
    • expectedActivationDate A date time (DateTime). The date when the service is expected to be activated.
    • expectedServiceAvailabili tyDate A date time (DateTime). Date when the requester looks for service availability.

Service Availability Date is the Date from when Service can be available , there are some long running infrastructure building process in case of Layer 2/Layer 3 VPN, Access Network Reediness, Last Mile Readiness. Services which requires those infrastructure need to await for few days once the readiness of the infrastructure becomes from In progress to In Service State.
