  • 1.  ManageableAsset resource in TMF 672 Identity Management API

I am looking at TMF672 for use in the organisation. I have a question on the ManageableAsset resource defined in the API.

    1. What form does the ManageableAsset take. Is it a Product Specification?
    2. Are there any examples of how Action and Function can be modelled in the Product Specification?

    Thanks

    Hi Milind

There is no resource called ManagedAsset - the published R17 spec for this API uses ManagedEntityRef, which is a reference to an arbitrary entity. In other words, the API allows permissions to apply to any entity, of course subject to the capabilities of a specific implementation.
There is no reason why this should be an entity specification, on the contrary the use cases make it clear that a likely implementation would apply to an entity in inventory. For example a TV Product, with permissions applied to family members.

Note that the published version R17 is rather old, and the API is being republished. You can find it in the beta table here, where you will see that ManagedEntityRef was replaced by EntityRef, which remains as a pointer to an arbitrary entity.

    Hope it helps
