    Hello,

I'm investigating the Scope of TMF APIs involved in a "typical" Order Management microservice-architecture, taking ODA as a reference framework.
Is there any sort of documented process-diagram, depicting the interactions between Product Ordering TMF 622 as the central point, and other APIs involved in an "happy-path process" for order capture, order confirmation and order monitoring (provisioning)?

The list of interactions / APIs doesn't need to be extensive/complete as my primary objective would be to evaluate solution-wise, what kind of microservices should be designed first:
1 - implementing each TMF APIs directly as single uService entities (per domains) or
2 - having microservices classes/layered-microservices to do entity representation and then aggregation/composition given these APIs implicitly always part-take in processes and map several Domains.

    Best regards,

    Hello Hugo,

I am working in Telco and also on Order Management. I would like to help and contribute to the idea of adding flows to the spec.

    Can you use some help?

    Best, Markus

Hi @Markus Schaeffer, hi @Hugo Gracio,

I think we share the same needs. That's why we've started IG1228 .  Already checked it ? The effort is continuing. We would really appreciate your contribution in improving/extending the flows. Why not joining the ODA project and contacting the lead, @Sylvie Demarest ?

    Dear @Alexis De Peufeilhoux ,

Would you please share the meeting page in the wiki so that we can watch the recording for IG1228 .

    Hi Arash,

The IG1228 artifact is produced in the context of ODA Functional Architecture: https://projects.tmforum.org/wiki/display/ODA/ODA+R20.5+Functional+Architecture+Meetings

    Hi Alexis,

Thanks for informing about the IG1228 document.  Interestingly the document also refers to the current discussion I'm having about the BFF layer role in the ODA framework:

1 - Coordinate user journeys only or
2 - centralize these as within the API ecosystem (eg. TMF701)

As user journeys depend much on the entry points/roles and given that nowadays frontend technologies can be very much dynamic, then BFF layer should solve mainly presentation features (i.e storyboard implementation).

However centralizing automation of journeys with APIs like TMF701 – as in UC3 –Approach B, raises questions about ODA agility. TMF701 will be providing BPM capabilities (or 'hard-coded' processes) to implement processFlow & taskFlow - process Orchestration.

On the other hand, process choreography could be achieved via BFF, when tapping into several MS-APIs. This brings to the point of using TMF 688 Event API, in order management flows as well. Somehow ODA should still assess what is the right balance between both MS orchestration and MS choreography purposes, as invariably user journeys in a decentralized, container-based, microservices-aligned architecture, depends on the even-driven-framework approach.

Do you know of any other TMF API beyond these two which relate to hosting process automation in ODA?

    Best regards,
    Hugo G.

Alexis is the real expert here but he made a  contribution on this topic to the ODA Techhnical Architecture on Processes
This is in the the team approved
    • section 6  which in this draft is really about the the pros and cons of orchestration and choreography

Note this document is out for member comment but not vote -  partly because of maturity of the materail which is is curated form many TM F orum Project sources and partly because we are now looking at how these ODA Architectue concepts and patterns might be captured in Machine processable templates - current studies are looking at  use of TOSCA v2 with ODA defined profiles.
