  • 1.  ABDR Format For Communication Message

    Hi Team,

    We have used open API entity (TMF681) for our communication message API.  We want to integrate this communication message with analytics report entity.

    Can you please suggest ABDR format/entity for this integration?

    Hi Chetan
    The Open API does not relate to the communications message content or format. So it would have to be a private agreement between your message producer and consumer.
    For those (like myself) who don't know what ABDR means in this context, can you clarify (I did a brief search but was not able to find anything that helped).

    Thanks a lot Jonathan for update.

    Here we have used ABDR for (The Analytics Big Data Repository). We have used TMF681 Communication API in our product to send notifications. Now we would like to integrate this API data to analytics big data system so we are looking common data entity set/format simillar to OPEN API. If in your know such format then please guide us for the same.

    hi Chetan,

    Based on reading on TMF ABDR, below are few points:
    • At a logical level the ABDR is a data dictionary, defining entities based on analytics scenario
    • At an implementation level, the data entity definition provides a high level construct for the data structure/ mechanism to be created to support specific business questions.
    • There is no "one size fits all" approach possible for the management of data
    Hence you can refer ABDR so that you plan & design  the schema of your data warehouse. A Highly normalization data structures don't lend to exploration and experimentation.

    to simplify the data ingestion, one approach could be to take the TMF Open API payload thru event notification and ingest that in data warehouse.

    Dear Chetan, 

    I contributed to ABDR, Analytics Big data Repository, an initiative launched in 2015 by Dr Gadi Solotorevsky, AMDOCS, that defined about 40 data entiities containers, with attributes, representing data useful for data analytics processing. Great that you are using ABDR!

    ABDR has been integrated in TM Forum AI data model in 2020.

    Please let us know more on ABDR use.

    As you have mentioned "defined about 40 data entiities containers, with attributes, representing data useful for data analytics processing",  How can we get this 40 data entities information?  It will be helpful to us if you can guide us to get this information. We need to use our communication message entities/resource to integrate analytics system.

    I am not knowledgeable about the TMForum ABDR initiative but you may find additional information about it by looking up information on GB​979D on TMForum's web site and related project site.

    There seems to also exist some information about the ABDR Data Entity Definitions here.
