I recently read this article and it sparked my interest. Phil Bull notes that around 35% percent of operators said defining a digital service strategy is their biggest challenge regarding IoE services, while 33% said it was figuring out how to monetize IoE.
Both challenges have been discussed right here in the IoE community.
What I found interesting is over 90% of CSP respondents said they have either deployed a platform as a service (PaaS) or are considering it. PaaS is where the network operator enables the consumer (such as a developer) to deploy applications onto cloud infrastructure. The consumer doesn’t manage or control the underlying infrastructure, but has control over the applications.
What are your thoughts on platform as a service (Paas)? Has anyone implemented a Paas that would like to share their experience below?
