When do you think the mass deployments of NFV/SDN will happen amongst telcos? And when can we expect a stable orchestration solution for SDN/NFV ?

Telcos are well on their way executing their SDN/NFV strategy. Deployments are happening on incremental basis and some Telcos have already achieved about 30% of their network estate with SDN/NDV roll out. Productized and pre-integraed virtual network service solutions would further pave the way for mass scale adoption. e.g. Our recent offering that we have jointly announced at MWC : Oracle, Tech Mahindra Deliver VoLTE-aaS | Light Reading .
Before commenting on stable Orchestration Solution : would like to know the exact question and what's exactly meant by stability.
    Hope this helps.

Thanks for your response. By stable I meant a standardized solution agreeable to all and endorsed by many operators.

    Hi Raghurama,

Ericsson has just deployed a large scale SDN/ NFV based solution for Verizon in the US (see press release). \Although we were not mentioned in the press release, Monolith provides the assurance elements at the core of this solution, monitoring the status and health of the various components and depending on service health and events/ faults engages with the orchestration engines (ECM, etc.) to ensure continuity and stability of service. This is fully closed loop and automated solution, delivered a very large scale.

I appreciate that Ericsson is a large organisation (in the past I've worked at IBM and EMC) so understand that information is not always immediately available internally, so if you want to drop me a note directly at bregan@monolith-software.com, I can put you in touch with our account team who have been working with your people on this.

    Best Regards

    Barry
