    Well traditional OSS will definitely change. The largest and biggest problem today would be how would telco perceive it to work in conjunction with current legacy OSS system. They cannot throw away system and it need to work at least for stipulated time along with new virtualized object/systems. Do we have any reference architecture to guide how would Telco see his future OSS showing a way through roadmap of today to future.

    Hi Dinanath

    Very true. Working of SDN/NFV OSS with legacy OSS system will provide complete solution and will be real value add for CSP.  I have few thoughts, though I do not have reference architecture to share.

    The existing OSS functions will be connected to NFV orchestrator via MOM (Manager of Manager) orchestrator/function for Inventory, Orchestration and monitoring functions.

    This MoM function will have intelligence to

    - Correlate information received from legacy and NFV

    - Pass on details to right orchestrator (legacy/NFV) to perform the task

     

    Legacy OSS systems should be enhance to have this Manager Of Manager Orchestrator function.

    Hi Dinanath and Lalitagauri,

    TMF ZOOM Reference Architecture essentially addresses the same. ZOOM provides that "Overarching" layer to integrate existing OSS eco-system with that of NFVOs. Hope that helps.
