Autonomous networks become a basic necessity when moving towards 5G roll-out owing to the volume and complexity of operations. But what is the return on investment? What ROI are you all seeing as your businesses become more and more automated?

I've written an article for Inform about exactly this in the run up to Digital Transformation Asia this month where I'll also be talking. Have a read if you're in the process of automating your business, or just interested in automation.

    Viswannathan
Thanks for posting this and interesting read and should simulate a good discussion at our Digital Transformation Asia KL event next week.

We do have and Autonomous Network project under our Open Digital Architecture  (ODA) project.

This has produced a white paper and vision/roadmap:
Autonomous Networks: Empowering Digital Transformation For The Telecoms Industry
    IG1193 Cross-Industry Autonomous Networks – Vision and Roadmap v1.0

The team activities and project results  are available to members under the ODA program at ( one needed to be registered to a core project for access to be enabled )
    Autonomous Networks R19.5
The current  focus is on User Stories for multiple  industry verticals and what are the common services needed across vertical and the consequential requirements to Autonomously enable them
see  #4 : Business Requirements and User Stories
If members have an interest just join our weekly meeting which you can findunder the OPD calendar

    Hi Dave,

In the 24461 Autonomous Networks whitepaper Release 2 published on October 2020, I realized that the 5 dimensions have been reduced to 4 with Analysis and decision combined into one without explanation.

By combining the Analysis and decision dimensions, we will lost the granularity view of the maturity level assessment on the experience X capability for each of the dimension.

Would you be able to share some light on the Analysis and decision dimensions combined. Thanks.

    Hi Khiang Chew,
Thanks for posting your query to the community forum.  This combination was an oversight more than deliberate I believe.  The 'analysis' and 'decision' dimensions shouldn't be combined in a single row like this as it loses the granularity of the assesment as you said.

The correct AN Levels table can be seen here at in IG1252 guide https://projects.tmforum.org/wiki/display/ANP/IG1252+Autonomous+Network+Levels+Evaluation+Methodology+1.0.0#IG1252AutonomousNetworkLevelsEvaluationMethodology1.0.0-Autonomousnetworklevels
