    Hi ,

I am trying to access intent management specification models listed under TR299_Intent_Specification_v3.6.0 , for example intent specification - http://tio.models.tmfo
    rum.org/tio/v3.6.0/IntentSpecification/ or intent common model - http://tio.models.tmforum.org/tio/v3.6.0/IntentCommonModel/

Whilst I can view W3C defined models, I am unable to access these TIO models. To view these TMF published models, do we need additional permissions or viewing rights?

    Thanks & Regards,

    Rohan

It looks to me that you are trying to access a stale link. @Heidi Lobecker can you assist here?

We are currently working on a website and user guide and we plan to publish the model files with it. For the time being the vocabulary reference of each individual model can be used to create these files. Rohan, please contact me directly to discuss how I can help you.

I would also be interested in access to the ICM ontology so that I do not have to create it myself based on the documentation. Would that be possible?

    Hi,

The files for TIO release 3.6 were created and TM Forum is still in the process to set up the website and all processes around it.

However, we have created a page in the ANP section of the Autonomous Networks Confluence where you can find the Turtle files for now.
    https://projects.tmforum.org/wiki/display/ANP/Turtle+Files+Collection+TIO+v3.6.0

The page also contains a link to an external web tool for conversion, if you need a different format.

If you have joined the Autonomous Networks Project, you should have access to the project confluence.

In the future with TIO 4, I also plan to maintain the latest turtle files as appendix to the respective specification documents to make access even easier.

    Best regards, Jörg

I have not joined the AN project, and if I try to join I am asked to accept IPR RAND terms. I have no idea what that would imply. Is someone claiming IPR rights to the ontology? I did believe that the intent common model ontology was supposed to be an open standard that was free to use for anyone? Please advise.

RAND is the mode of operation of all collaboration projects in TM Forum with respect to IPR. This is also not only chosen by TM Forum, but other SDOs have similar agreements. It means that partners in the projects agree on Reasonable And Non-Discriminatory (RAND) licensing. And yes, some aspects of standards are covered by IPRs that individual partners hold. Also this is nothing unusual or makes a standard not open. This is the reason why most vendors have extensive licensing agreements with each other. I am not a lawyer, but I think RAND practically means, that you cannot deny a license for using a feature or ask an unreasonably license fee. This makes the standard open. Open does not mean that all IPR is denied or given up and RAND or similar agreements means that licenses are available for using the IPR protected parts of the standards. Typically this is mainly a concern for system vendors. All this is common practice across SDOs and does not conflict with a standard being open.

If you agree to this by entering the project, you basically declare that you are willing to license the IPR you derive from the work in the project under RAND terms to others. If in doubt, if this is ok with your company, please contact your legal support or whoever is in charge of your organization's TM Forum membership.

I tried to attach the files here, but the site told me it is not a supported format. Strange, because they are all text files.

Please contact me by email at joerg.niemoeller@ericsson.com and I can send the files to you directly.
