  • 1.  Link between product order item and service order item

Hi! We are working with the following APIs: product Catalog, service Catalog, product Order Man, service Order Man. We want to place a service Order to the SOM in the POM system based on the incoming product Order, and we also want to reference the sent service order in the product Order Item somehow.  How can a productOrderItem refer to a service Order Item or vica versa in order to correlate to the corresponding items?

    Thanks a lot,

    Vilmos

    Hi Vilmos,

    Interesting question.

While the Product Order ID and the Service Order ID must inherently be referenced to each other by the COM function, the more important aspect is the Catalog model  upon which the Product Order Line Item and the Service Order Items are based on. And that relationship should be built in the Catalog between the PS - Composite CFSS and Atomic CFSS and the order decomposition needs to follow that.

    Hi Vilmos
Rather surprisingly, the Product Order model in TMF Open API does not appear to have a reference to any generated service orders. The relationship exists at inventory level (product has list of implementing services), but this is not necessarily available when service order is first created.
You can of course extend the model yourself by adding these references. However I think it's worth considering as an addition to the model.
    Hope it helps
