  • 1.  State Definition Queries

    Posted May 04, 2022 11:07

I am pretty new with the TMF 641 APIs.

I follow the tmf document and I try to implementing ServiceOrder & ServiceOrderItem State. I have query regarding AssessingCancellation and PendingCancellation states.

I checked the definition of these state in the tmf document.

    State                                                                                                  Definitions

    1. PendingCancellation                                                          Following a cancel request, the SP is assessing if cancel can be done for the
order/item (or if the Service Order has reached PONR). If cancellation
request is not accepted after assessment the order will return in Held or
                                                                                                      Pending or InProgress state.

    2. PendingCancellation                                                        Once a cancel order has been accepted by SP, it could in some UC take time
to effectively cancel the order/item. During this time when accepted
cancellation is effectively processed we use Pending Cancellation.

In these state definitions what is SP, PONR, UC.

    Hi Shivam
These are abbreviations that we should expand in the future, sorry.
    • SP - Service Provider (telco for example)
    • PoNR - Point of No Return; the point in the process for fulfilling an order (service, product, resource) after which the process can no longer be stopped or reversed. This is an important concept, as we would assume that after PoNR an order cannot be canceled or amended.
    • UC - Use Case

    Hope it helps
