    Hi all,

There is a request to temporary suspend a wireless subscription with a date range, in the BSS it actually add a service to the customer subscription for suspension.  There were discussion on whether it should be TMF641-Service Order,TMF-640 Service Activitation or TMF622 Product Order.  I would like to get an 2nd opinion from this community.

If one is correct, could you please provide the reason why is it not the other?

    Thank you in advance.

    Hi Keven
Well it's all of them. Consider the process. The end customer requested temporary suspension (holiday, military service) presumably in the knowledge that recurring charge will be reduced as a result. So a Product Order is essential, you could discuss whether you have a single order that encapsulates one item with the suspend and another item with a future date for the resume, or perhaps two orders.
When the Product Order is submitted, you'll need to decide whether a service order is needed (TMF641), or is it sufficient to do a service activation (TMF640) - this will depend on how complex the activation process is in your OSS layer.
    Hope it helps

    Hi,

    some feedback:

    we distinguish 2 "suspend" scenarios:
    1. suspension requested by customer e.g. (holiday, medical care, army...)
    2. suspension requested by the CSP e.g. (mostly dunning)

    At request time:
    for cases 1 and 2:
product order -> Service order / Service Activitation -> Product Inventory
(on the order line, we use an OrderItemActionType = suspend)

    for case 1 only:
also suspend billing (or reduce the price, dependending on terms and conditions)

when the suspend period is over (on To Date), BSS automatically repeat the same process but this time OrderItemActionType = Resume.
Note: the resume order (future date order) can also be created immediately after the suspend order
