  • 1.  CreditProfile on TMF632 and TMF629 Resource Models

    Hi,

We are redefining the Customer and Party data models on our CRM platform and it's a bit unclear where we should place the creditProfile since it appears in both the customer and party resource models. Any ideas on the pros & cons of placing it on either schema?

    Hi Edwell

Parts of the credit profile are inherently party-related. For example, if you do an external credit check, it will be done on a party (individual or organization), without consideration of the relationship of the party to the service provider. Credit score/credit rating for example.

However other parts have to do with the relationship of the party to the service provider, i.e. PartyRole, or in its common subclass Customer. These would be derived from the billing and payment history of the customer (or partner or supplier or whatever).

    Hope it helps

    Many thanks Jonathan!

Definitely helpful, and makes a lot of sense where multiple Customer instances are linked to the same EngagedParty, and we can therefore track their internal credit behaviour. Will workshop it a bit more in terms of the structure of the creditInfo

Additional question in the same ilk: We are seeing a need to create a customer hierarchy but I have noticed that the Parent/Child relationships are only mapped at the Party level in the resource models. Is this something you have encountered and what would be the best way to factor in the hierarchical elements at partyRole level?
