Yes to an extend.
However I believe this is to serve the purpose for the accounting heads which are consumed by ERP/financial systems.

AmountDue is the total amount which is due to be paid as per the Invoice/bill
RemainingAmount is the balance amount to be paid against an bill/Invoice. In case if a partial payment was made post the invoice generation then only the balance amount to be paid will be shown under this. If no payment (or any credit) was done post invoice generation then RemainingAmount and AmountDue would be same for this invoice/bill.
