Open APIs

Hi All 

There is a new version of the shopping cart API that was released on 9/20 with considerable changes from version 4. We have started working using version 4. Should we course correct and start using the version 5 or can we go ahead and use the existing current version.

This is a business decision that your product managers need to take. Gen 5 includes nice goodies such as support for OAS (Swagger) 3, as against v4 that uses Swagger 2.

Bear in mind that software vendors will have to consider their Gen 5 support strategy carefully, since Gen 5 is not backward compatible with v4 - quite likely vendors will have to support endpoints for both versions. NOTE - this is not a commitment that any particular vendor will actually do that.
