Bio

Carles Agustí i Hernàndez is an expert in International Relations, Open Government, transparency, Open Data and new governance models, Innovation and management. He's International speaker about this issues. He's nominate by World CSR organization as one of 50 best experts in Smart Cities at world level.

He, and his team, launched Barcelona Open Government (governobert.bcn.cat) and achieve that Barcelona meet 100% of international transparency criterias.

He also organize, as a maximum responsible, last setember 27th 2015 catalan elections

He's now Open Government Director at Diputació de Barcelona and President of Compolcat (Catalan Association of Political Communication). He's member of advisory Committee of Open Data Institute Barcelona and Leading Cities Advisory Board member. He's also member of National Direction of Partit Demòcrata (PDECAT) as responsible of transparency and participation.

Recently he was Innovation and Democratic Quality Director of Catalan Government. He's former Councillor of Citizen Participation and Associations of Barcelona city Council and also General Secretary of the International Observatory of Participatory Democracy (OIDP), international organization with more than 750 cities and associations of 65 different countries and also was Vicepresident of Barcelona Sport Council

He has been Vicepresident of the Catalan Association of Investigation, Communication and Political Strategy (ACCIEP) and Secretary of Organization of Convergencia Democratica de Catalunya In Barcelona

Formerly he has been General Director of Interdepartmental Affairs in the Department of the Presidency of Catalan Government.

He is Graduate in Politics and Sociology with studies of History and he's visiting professor of different universities.

He has been also Bureau member of Studies and Opinion Center (CEO) and Responsible for Studies and electoral programm of CiU in 2009 european elections, Barcelona local elections 2015 and Catalan elections of 2010.
