Last week at Action Week in Lisbon we held an Open Hack where 56 developers and architects from 30 countries around the globe came, learnt, designed and hacked out 8 new IoT / Smart City applications.  The overall winners were ShareParking who created a platform for individuals with private car spaces in the city to rent these out to commuters. They leveraged TM Forum Open APIs to create a 2 sided business model.

You can read more about the event here: https://inform.tmforum.org/internet-of-everything/2017/02/open-hack-learned-mature-apis-future/

Our next Open Hack will be held as part of the TM Forum Live event in Nice.  For this event we want to continue to build upon the experience in Lisbon and invite enterprise developers and architects from around the globe to join us for Open Hack.  The challenges will include smart city / IoT as well as 5G NFV where participants will be enticed to create new solutions which leverage the network capabilities of telcos.

Do you have ideas for the types of applications that would be enhanced by the scalability and flexibility of 5G NFV?

The Open Hack was an excellent event and opportunity to get acquainted hands-on with the TM Forum Open APIs and get to know all the participants from around the globe.  I had a great experience and will continue to practice and build some (simple) applications to let me enhance my programming skills.

    And in regards to  5G,
5G NFV will be the ultimate enabler for CSPs to become Digital Service Providers.

I found the participants' endurance very interesting, but in truth all of us really appreciate the challenge and the opportunity for integrating new Open APIs in an application. Interoperating with different data sources to, in only 24 hours, create something from scratch was definitely another highlight! So I think the only thing left to do is to thank you a lot for this {Open}:Hack!
