  • 1.  5g and slice management impact on Open APIs

    Hi All,
    Hope this message find you well.

    I'm looking for how 5g and slice management impacted different open APIs, like product/service catalogue, product/service order, service activation and etc. I would appreciate any thought on this topic which guide me to a proper direction.

    Hi Arash
    By design, the Open API data model is non-opinionated with regard to how to model specific lines-of-business.
    With that, there is a gradual development of domain-context specialization (DCS) models, using strongly-typed subclasses of the catalog entities. This is still in early stages, but you can see a DCS model on the beta Open API table https://projects.tmforum.org/wiki/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=128855518 for 5G slice. @Stephen Harrop is working on addition DCS models.

    Earlier studies showed that the  3GPP Slice Sub slice models correspond to resource level API . What is needed is the mapping from 3GPP models to our SID resource models see 

    IG1211 ODA 5G Management Implementation Guidelines v1.0.1

    IG1217 Resource Inventory of 3GPP NRM for Service Assurance v1.0.1
    There is also a service level discussion see

    IG1194 Focus on Services not Slices v1.0.1 whcih shows how to create service abstraction and use GSMA GST work
    See 5g-ridersonthestorm/gsma-gst: Develop Well-Defined "Generic Slice Templates" (GSTs) . Build on GSMA NEST GST Vision by providing 1) concrete industry examples and 2) a JSON Schema that validates template model or definition (github.com)

    We have also looked a the product based multi -operator slice supported products see

    IG1280 Bridging TM Forum ODA and 3GPP 5G service management partnering frameworks v2.0.0
    This starts to  answer the question how do you support these models using ODA components and SID models.
