Open APIs

Hi,

According to the component description, it provides product qualification and product configuration apis. TMF679 is the product qualification api. But currently no tmforum api is available for product configuration.
We have one mobile plan offer that has multiple choices like voice options and data options. The offer has multiple product offer prices based on product characteristic value use. Because all characteristic values are included in the offer, we can show the options and prices for customer without configuration api. But I am not sure if we should have the api. So should we the configuration api? Also, how should we register customer's choice? We reviewed IG1228 ODA use cases. But still we have no idea how we should implement 

1. Configurator API:

   1. TMF760 is not yet ready for production. Its official presentation will take place at the Ignite event.
   2. you can also search for TMF760 in the TMF Wiki.

2. TMF620

   1. While this API can be consumed by sales channels, it doesn't perform any calculations or possess any logic - it's simply a basic catalogue. For price calculations, especially for bundling prices, you'll likely still need at least TMF679, as TMF620 isn't equipped for this task.

3. IG1228 and other TMF assets

   1. IG1228 is a great starting point for learning. If you're still unsure about implementation, I'd recommend reading it again. Understanding sequence diagrams using TMF701 can indeed be challenging, but worth the effort.

   2. Resources like IG1229, GB922 - Product, Etom, SID, API, etc., when used together, should give you a solid understanding of how to implement. If you're still having difficulty, consider hiring experts or seeking TMF Training. That kind of knowledge takes time.

   3. The TMF Wiki contains an array of materials, often from CSPs, vendors, or consultancies, suggesting best practices on sales processes, order capture, and more. However, I concede that these can be harder to find, as they aren't standard deliverables, but supporting documents used in workshops (search for your desired keyword and focus on powerpoint files returned by the confluence search engine)
