Hello,
To add to what Matthew has said, there is a specific certification for APIs in production called 'real-world'. This means you can certify your API as usual and obtain an additional certification for each customer where you deploy that API in production. Therefore, for each API you develop, you could potentially receive multiple certifications.
Best regards,

not a definitive answer, but one our SaaS ISV (AT&T has the same vendor! PM me if you want to know more) has certified several TMF APIs but the APIs are never given to customer's environment (PROD, DEV...). The certification was solely for marketing and proof of concept purposes, not production.

Subject: Questions on Open API Conformance Certification process with TMF
Hello Team,
I have below questions on Open API Conformance Certification process with TMF -
1) Is it necessary for me to integrate my API into my business operations? While it may not be essential for my business, my API development team will proceed with its development solely for the purpose of monetization.
2) Is the deployment of my API required in a production-ready system? I may need to change my host name as I migrate it from one system to another.
