  • 1.  Suitable TMF API for OTT subscription for postpaid customer

    Hi All,

    We would like to design flow for OTT subscription for postpaid customer and would like to compline it with TMF API. Here user will subscribe OTT service from OTT service provider platform and it should be provisioned in back end system with debit entry for this user. Here OTT platform system will provide subscription information along with respective service charges so back end system can generate debit entry that will be covered in next invoice for that user. Kindly request to guide me which API will be suitable to achieve this scenario. 

    Should we use TMF654 PrepayBalance Management for both Prepaid & Postpaid?

    If yes then how should we manage tax amount in this API?

    By its name, Prepay Balance Management deals with usage buckets in prepaid situations. I'm not sure how it will work for dealing with OTT use cases such as you describe.

    We have Applied Customer Billing Rate entity in the Customer Bill API TMF678, but this is essentially a read-only API, you can't create charges.

    For postpaid customers, a more appropriate API to consider would be TMF622 Revenue Management - Account Receivable API. This API is designed to manage the billing and invoicing aspects of postpaid services https://mlsdev.com/services/business-analysis. It allows you to create and manage accounts receivable, record charges, and generate invoices for customers.

    Hi emely bright,

    Currently I am getting TMF622 as Product Ordering Management API so hope it may be same as you have mentioned  Revenue Management - Account Receivable API.

    In  my case OTT service provider will come for only debit generation entry for postpaid customer while product will be owned by only OTT vendor only.

    TMF666 Account Management API have financial account generation endpoint, Will it create debit entry for specific billing account instead of financial account?
