Then it is an Allowance Pricing component which has a counter for roaming data usage, up to a level. After the threshold, more roaming data usage (PAYG) is not allowed. The charging system should allow this to be defined for any usage condition (in this case, events matching the Roaming data usage pattern), e.g. Roaming data usage is denied, but Roaming SMS/Calls or something else is still allowed.
I'm not sure where this would be defined in the Product model, but perhaps in the UsageVolumeProductSpec

yes Bill Shock Prevention will be modelled as a product, but no charges.
Applicable for Prepaid customers ... so it will renew as per Customer's subscription for each month
It will be only for roaming data usage. Say when it reaches the credit limit set for roaming data, then it will be blocked and Customer will get notificaitons.
"This last point is something that is not usually done and something which would (along with real-time usage) prevent Bill shock completely." --- this will be as per Customer Request to disable it for a given month - no charges involved here. Next month onwards it will be enabled back again.

Hi Pratik,
Have you modelled Bill Shock Prevention as a product? Is it chargeable?
The actual implementation is not all that clear - Is it just real-time credit control? For usage only? Product charges accrued in real-time?
This last point is something that is not usually done and something which would (along with real-time usage) prevent Bill shock completely.

Hello TMForum community,
We are trying to build feature for Bill shock Prevention (BSP) and hence was going through this user guide for TMG 637 Product Inventory; but couldn't see anything related to BSP.
We are thinking of enabling this as default feature for all customers in Eurpoe region at the time of subscription provisioning and Customer can opt out for disabling it in a given month
Request for your guidelines / suggestions as how best we can implement this BSP feature.
Thanks,
Pratik
