    TM Forum currently does not have a standard API for telecom rating or charging equivalent to a 3GPP OCS/CCS interface.

    In telecom networks, real-time charging is typically handled by 3GPP-defined charging systems/interfaces (e.g. Diameter Gy/Ro, 5G CHF/Nchf APIs). That sits in the core network charging domain rather than the TM Forum Open API domain.

    • 3GPP standards handle real-time charging/rating/quota control.
    • TM Forum APIs expose usage, balances, billing and customer/product-facing business function
