Open APIs

All,

We have a requirement to send the source system id in TMF APIs in 641 service order. In the API definition for 641 V4 , there is no Entity Ref against the Service Order though there is one against the Service. So
1) Is extending the API to include Entity Ref against a Service Order the right way to pass the source system id?
2) What is the difference between Source System and Recording System as types of entities?

In my opinion, the correct approach would be to use the ExternalIdentifier structure. This includes the ID of the service order in the source system, and also the ID of the source system itself.
ExternalIdentifier is missing from most APIs but it is starting to be introduced.
